Confirmation Outline for Lent 2011
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is nothing less than giving people the equipment they need to be faithful disciples?
It is based on the belief that:
-God has a plan for your life
-You cannot fully experience that plan with out education in and
information about your faith and how you experience it in your life.
Our task is to take time with you, give you some skills, insights,
and experiences in order that you can be faithful to God's promise made at your baptism.
Confirmation is not about joining the church.
Joining the church is a choice you make after viewing your faith
and seeing God's guidance in your life.

Confirmation Class Schedule
Saturday Afternoons 3:00 to 4:30
Friday March 5: Get to know you gathering
(7pm to 11pm)
Saturday March 6: Introduction meeting for
Parents, Mentors, and Youth.
Saturday March 13: What is Faith and
Who am I in it?
Saturday March 20: What is Faith through Service?
(See outing for March 21)
Saturday March 27: What does Christ's life mean to my Faith?
Saturday April 3: No Group Easter Weekend: Luisa
Saturday April 10: What is Faith through patience,
gentleness, love and peace?
Saturday April 17: What is the church to my Faith?
Saturday April 24: What is Faith through Joy and Happiness
Saturday May 1: How is Faith a Family Experience?
Saturday May 9: Putting it all together
Special Outings:
Wednesday April 14:
Confirmation group to help prepare meal for Store Front Teen Mission.
Please Arrive at 3:30 to help prepare this meal.
Currently in Search of Location to prepare meal at. Please contact Drew if you can help.
Saturday April 17:
Confirmation group to Mountain Shadows Community Homes
to help with Special Needs Worship at 11:30am.
We will have our regular 3:00 meeting following this event.
Adult Drivers and Helpers Needed.
Friday May 1 - May 2:
This will be our BIG Confirmation Retreat.
We will meet at the church at 3:30pm and will return around Noon Sunday, May 18.
Cost will be determined for each student.
Bring comfortable clothing, shoes, personal items, a Bible, pillow, sleeping bag,
Air Mattress, and a great attitude! Adult Leaders needed.
May 15 and 16:
This will be our Confirmation Groups, Confirmation Weekend.
I need to know:
- Your name as you want it to appear in the bulletin
- Parents name that the youth want with their's in the bulletin
- I need to know if you need to be baptized.
- I need to know what service you attend.
(It is possible that we may have the group join on Saturday this year)
