for Hope UMC All-Church Retreat which will be held the weekend of September 22-24 at Camp Cedar Glen in Julian. We will meet at Cedar Glen Friday evening after dinner and will depart after the noon meal on Sunday.
The theme of our retreat will be The Ways We Experience God. This multi-generational program will be led by Pastor Drew Davis who will help us consider how we see, feel and hear God through various means and media and how these experiences differ by generation.
Other activities include swimming, hiking, and archery. During one free time period, there will be separate activities for the children and youth. Please note that activities for infants and toddlers under the age of three are not provided and parents of children this age are expected to supervise them.
The cost for camp is $125 per adult and $60 per child/youth (3 to 17). The maximum cost per family $300. Register and pay online beginning in July. Registration will also be available on the patio at all services during August. Payment of a non-refundable deposit of $25 per family group is required at registration, with payment in full by September 6. Located near the historic gold mining town of Julian outside San Diego and surrounded by the Volcan Mountain Preserve is Camp Cedar Glen. Situated at 4,500 feet the campsite enjoys four seasons and the is filled with a magnificent growth of Cedar trees.
The campsite is ideal for youth and family camps and retreats. The campsite also provides a mid level of adult accommodation for retreats. With accommodations for groups as large as 180, meals are provided in the beautiful Camerer Hall and a chapel is available for meditation, program and worship experiences.
