In one way, shape, or form Pastor Drew has been involved with youth ministries for the past 21 years. God began to lay the foundation for Pastor Drew's love for youth ministries when at 18 Drew served as summer Youth Assistant at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Axton, Virginia, and at the age of 19 was summer youth director at Mid-way Baptist Church in Bristol, Virginia.
After graduating from Virginia Intermont College, where he earned a BFA in music with a concentrationin vocal performance, Drew served as Youth Director at First United Methodist Church in Bristol, Tennessee. While in Bristol, Pastor Drew worked with youth in grades 7 through 12 and lead some adult small groups. During this three-year period Drew realized his calling to pastoral ministry and left to attend Fuller Theological Seminary. While in Seminary, Pastor Drew moved to the San Diego area where his wife Gretchen was raised and still has family. They currently live in Escondido with their daughters Annie and Molly.
Drew and Gretchen joined Hope UMC in 2000 and soon Drew began leading the Senior High Sunday School class, serving on the Youth Council, and then returned to full-time youth ministry as Hope's Pastor of Youth Ministry. In 2011, Drew became our Associate Pastor.
Drew is currently a probational member of teh California-Pacific Conference appointed to Hope United Methodist Church. Drew graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity in 2006.
